Calling all Breckland artists!

Breckland Council is calling on local artists to get in touch to take part in the 2014 Breckland Art Trail.

Following the success of the 2012 and 2013 Trails Breckland Communities Officer, Sam Patel, has started work on the 2014 event to recruit local artists and create a class and demonstration programme – a new edition to the art trail this year. Last year saw a fantastic range of exhibits on show from over 70 local artists including paintings, prints, photographs, ceramics, textiles and sculpture; organisers are hoping for a similar range this year.

With 850 visitors calling in at studios and exhibition spaces over the nine days in 2013, resulting on over £4,500 worth of art sales, being part of the Trail last year was very worthwhile for participating artists. One artist commented that the Trail had brought her more visitors than Norfolk Open Studios and that most of her visitors were planning to visit all the venues in the leaflet.

Breckland-based artists have until 26 August to get in touch with Sam to find out more and to register to take part. Although Breckland will publicise the event by producing and distributing a brochure featuring all participating artists, the onus is on participating artists to promote the Trail and their work.

The dates of the Trail are 8 – 16 November 2014.  Artists who are interested in taking part should email [email protected] to request a registration form. The cost to participate is £10 per artist or £30 per group. More details will be at www.breckland.gov.uk/arttrail
